Client Objective
Exchange is an industry-leading annual user conference hosted by Landis+Gyr, providing the opportunity for the Landis+Gyr community to come together for knowledge sharing, networking, and product demonstrations. Typically hosted in person, the team made the difficult decision to cancel their 2020 event due to Covid-19. In 2021, the team chose to host their first-ever all virtual Exchange.
Landis+Gyr set a target goal of 1,000 attendees to connect customers, peers, partners, and industry experts and explore new energy management solutions. The company sought to create an engaging virtual environment that delivered innovative and in-depth content focused on all the important aspects of their successful live events from hosting one-on-one subject matter expert discussions, to engaging networking activities, educational and inspiring keynotes and breakout sessions, and product demonstrations.
Actions
Together, we led over two dozen sessions, engaging networking activities, a live-streamed closing general session and Q&As with leading members of the Landis+Gyr community. To create a virtual success for our client and consumers, our team applied knowledge and insights for technology use and partnership synergies, allowing us to:
- Rapidly partner with Thomas Cook and Tecogis to create a functional, fully-branded platform for a complete virtual audience, including a custom “Ask the Expert 1:1” meeting buildout.
- Produce, record, and edit 27 educational breakout and keynote sessions, culminating in a closing in-studio live general session.
- Staff all sessions, provide speaker training, and manage live Q&A.
- Engender ongoing engagement through unique partnership with Business Games, creating Lanny the Landis+Gyr Chatbot who guides attendees through Team Trivia and invites interaction with digital surveys.
Results
Grew attendance by 137% from 2019 with 1,670 customer conference attendees (with no CEU requirements).
Gained 6,200 total views across 27 sessions, live and on-demand.
Met global demand with 23% of attendees representing 28 countries outside of the U.S.
