As an Education Specialist at Meeting Expectations, Amelia is responsible for connecting with volunteers, coordinating education events, managing special interest groups, and team-planning for annual conferences. She loves her role within the association and enjoys having the opportunity to help others evolve within their own experiences as well.
Amelia began her career in the classroom with elementary-age students. There she served as a teacher leader, presented best practices at local conferences, effectively developed strategic initiatives, and successfully targeted learning achievements. She also spent time in the non-profit world, spending summers in Florida as the Logistics Lead with Lighthouse Family Retreat. In this role, she was the communicator amongst varying businesses, families, and volunteers to ensure a smooth retreat experience.
Outside of Meeting Expectations, Amelia serves as Membership Chair on Friends Junior Committee Board for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She is an Orange Theory enthusiast, loves being outdoors (especially in the sunshine), and making visits to Oregon to visit her family.
She holds an education degree from Mercer University (GO BEARS!) and a master’s degree in education from Georgia Southern. Though the learning doesn’t stop there–she believes that we are all life-long learners and that one should never cease from learning something new every day.
