As the membership manager for the American Beekeeping Federation (ABF), Melissa cultivates relationships with the ABF membership, oversees the day-to-day management of the association’s operations and is responsible for volunteer management and making sure registering for ABF’s annual conference is a breeze. Melissa is also the managing editor of ABF’s quarterly magazine and monthly digital newsletter in addition to being responsible for the organization’s marketing communications.
Prior to joining Meeting Expectations in 2019, Melissa worked for the nonprofit Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI), serving as the education and cochlear program coordinator and organizing 12+ educational and fundraising events each year. She also planned the annual kids camp and the annual conference for 600+ participants. When not working on events, Melissa published CNI’s monthly newsletter and created marketing materials.
Melissa earned her master’s degree from the University of the Rockies, specializing in human services and nonprofit management. As an undergraduate, Melissa studied human development psychology and received her bachelor of arts degree from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado.
