Meeting Expectations is pleased to announce that founder and partner Jalene Bermudez, CMP, will succeed Brian Meyer as president, reprising the role she held from the company’s founding in 1992 until 2002. Mr. Meyer remains a partner in the firm, will serve on the Meeting Expectations Board of Directors and will work closely with Ms. Bermudez in her role as president, consulting on strategic initiatives. Ms. Bermudez assumes the role of president on Friday, June 1.

“It’s been an amazing and fulfilling 15 years leading the company and I feel strongly this is the perfect time for Jalene Bermudez to reprise her role as Meeting Expectations president,” Brian Meyer said. “With the incredible pace of change in the meeting and association management industries, she has a clear vision focused on amplifying the pace at which Meeting Expectations delivers innovation and value to our clients and staff. Jalene will champion the unique story of Meeting Expectations because she started it. We have just celebrated our 25th anniversary and now is an ideal time for change and to envision and create a new era of success. She inspires and energizes team members and clients, and I know her positive impact will be felt by all.”

Bermudez founded Meeting Expectations in 1992 with a single client, the Oracle Applications Users Group, a partnership that continues to this day and which served as the basis for not only the meeting planning business but the expansion into association management services. Bermudez has personally worked with numerous companies to plan and execute diverse events, from small C-level forums to city-wide educational conferences, in multiple countries around the world. Most recently, she has been focused on developing innovative event solutions, building incentive programs for notable franchise brands and leading sales initiatives.

“Meeting Expectations has grown and thrived under Brian Meyer’s leadership,” said Bermudez. “Since I stepped out of the spotlight in 2002 to focus on my young family, he has led with tireless devotion, strategic and financial acumen and an engaging leadership style. Today Meeting Expectations has over 100 employees in four offices and earns industry accolades such as the CMI 25 designation 11 years and counting. I thank him for leading us through sustained growth and building that reputation and influence.” Bermudez continued, “I also want to recognize our stellar senior leadership team for their ongoing support, dedication to clients and for successfully managing the day-to-day operations of our company. Moving forward, my focus as president will be on innovation and leadership development, while maintaining the personal touch we are known for. I feel these are the keys to unlocking even more potential for ourselves and our clients.”
